Brief
Fourteen rules, each added after a specific failure. Together they define how an extraction agent should format its output — and they cost roughly three hundred tokens on every single call, including the overwhelming majority where none of the awkward cases arise.
Most of these rules are the same rule. What they are collectively describing is a format, and a format is better shown than stated.
Task
Replace the rule list with three to five worked examples. Separate each with a line of three dashes. Every example must show both the input and the output. Between them they must demonstrate the four behaviours named in the checker — a rounded figure, a missing figure, a range, and a restated prior-period figure.
