Brief

This prompt controls a filings-research agent. It was written by someone patching one failure at a time, and every patch was a new branch. It now handles exactly the situations its author thought of, and nothing else — a question about fiscal 2026 falls straight through it.

If the user asks about fiscal 2022 or fiscal 2023, use the annual_report
tool. If the user asks about fiscal 2021, use the archive tool instead,
because 2021 filings are stored separately. If the user asks about a
quarter rather than a year, use the quarterly tool. If the user asks
about a quarter in 2021, use the archive tool anyway.

If the user asks to compare two years, retrieve both years separately and
then compare. If the user asks to compare three or more years, retrieve
them one at a time, unless there are more than five, in which case
summarise instead. If the user asks to compare two companies, retrieve
each company separately. If the user asks to compare two companies across
two years, retrieve all four separately.

If the user asks about revenue, cite the income statement. If the user
asks about cash, cite the balance sheet. If the user asks about margin,
